| Welcome To TorchwoodForum.co.uk |
Torchwood is a British science fiction and crime drama created by Russell T. Davies and starring John Barrowman and Eve Myles. It deals with the machinations and activities of the Cardiff branch of the fictional Torchwood Institute.
The program follows the Cardiff branch "Torchwood Three" of a covert
agency called Torchwood which investigates extra-terrestrial incidents
on Earth and who also scavenge alien technology for human use. To
paraphrase Torchwood Threes commander-in-chief, Captain Jack Harkness,
the organisation is beyond the government, the police, and the United
Nations.
Torchwood is a spin-off from the long-running science fiction series
Doctor Who and there have been three series of Torchwood so far. The
title "Torchwood" is an anagram of "Doctor Who". The name was used as the
"codename" for the 2005 series of Doctor Who while filming its first
few episodes to ensure the tapes were not intercepted.
The Torchwood Institue was formed in 1879 by the royal decree of Queen
Victoria. "I
saw last night that Great Britain has enemies beyond imagination, and
we must defend our borders on all sides. I propose an institute, to
investigate these strange happenings and to fight them. I am calling it
Torchwood. The Torchwood Institute".

Quote: In a special message sent to the SFX Weekender in his acceptance speech for winning Best Comic at the SFX Awards, Neil Gaiman has confirmed that he is writing an episode for the second Matt Smith season of Doctor Who.
Although not present personally, Neil Gaiman sent the following message:
"Over the years SFX, and its readers and their votes in the polls, have always been very kind to me. I thought I’d return the favour with what used to be called, i...

Torchwood 4 What Will They Do Next
|
Poster: cherry
Sometimes I'll just be sitting or standing for that matter...and i'll think about Torchwood 3, and a shiver, literaly runs down my back...and its not a very nice feeling either. I'll think...'What Have They Done?'. They killed off Tosh And Owen after 2 series, and lanto after 3 ...and Im thinking...who the hells left?! We have Jack and Gwen..and Rhys of course. I remember I think one of the writers saying...dont think your favourite Torchwood characters safe forever, or words to that effect. And yes, thats a good way to think, to keep us all wanting more, and on the edge if you like. But there has to be a line...
